Sounds like you are paranoid. and if you act like this all the time im sure her boss knows that your wife is petrified that someone will talk to her and set you off. The boss picked up on this and didnt want to cause trouble. But checked on her well being when you walked away.

I don’t think your wife is cheating. But if you are uncomfortable about her boss avoiding you, you can certainly talk to her about that.

I think you need to trust her and if you are really bugged about it then talk to her. You said you both can talk to each other. Why hold it in just let her know how you feel.

I would not start a fire where this is none. I would say her boss was being polite when he walked away. They were probably discussing work and he did not want you to be uncomfortable after all it was a work party.
